3 Stars of the Week

So we're 4 games into the season and the first time we've gone 4-0 off the bat since the 97-98 season and we all know how that went! Here are my 3 stars of the week:

Valtteri Filppula

So far Valtteri Filppula has looked really stellar. Putting pucks at the net, scoring, and playing really solid defensively. He has 10 shots on goal with 1 goal and 2 assists to go along with a +4. A great start for him and hopefully he keeps this up throughout the season.

Jiri Hudler

Jiri Hudler has been playing outstanding. Throwing his body around and putting up good points early with 2 goals, 2 assists, and +4. Here is Hudler doing a really nice job tying up the man with the puck and Datsyuk sweeping it away and feeding it back Hudler where he puts a nice backhand right behind Ottawa's netminder.

Ian White

Ian White is looking to be a really good pick-up in the off season. I was eager to see how he'd do with the Wings and he seems to be fitting in just fine, being our first 2 goal scorer (Hudler the second) and even using his body (unlike Ericsson who can't figure out that he is 6'5" and can't knock down a man half his size).

Honorable Mention

Because I have to, Kronwall has been amazing so far, making really smart defensive plays and beginning to do similar things that Lidstrom does. He has looked great as has the entire roster.
